We spoke with Graham Horne, Installation QA/QC Manager, and Emily Budd, Operational Finance Manager, to learn how SiteCapture’s solar field operations platform and mobile app helped Powur standardize jobsite documentation, boost QA/QC efficiency, and streamline TPO financing across thousands of solar installations nationwide.

The Challenges: Operational Inefficiency and Funding Delays Due to Lack of Standardization

Before SiteCapture, Powur’s solar installation documentation process was inconsistent and inefficient. Different crews throughout the country used different methods to submit photo reports, ranging from ZIP files to PDFs, which led to incomplete or poor-quality documentation.

Graham’s QA/QC team struggled to enforce quality standards with inconsistent review processes, while Emily’s Project Funding team was bogged down with manually uploading detailed photo reports to financing partners.

Both teams were held back by having to painstakingly search for missing photos and manually upload them to different systems.

Utilize conditional logic in mobile forms to populate photo requirements depending on field crew responses to questions such type of work, location, etc. For example: “Is there a battery?”, then “Which type of battery?” to guide crews through exactly what needs to be documented.
