Last week, the SiteCapture team was in Southern California to attend RE+ 24, the largest clean energy event in North America. With over 40,000 attendees and 1,350 exhibitors from sectors such as solar, storage, hydrogen, EV, and other renewable energy spaces, the event was a massive gathering of industry leaders, partners, and field crew.

SiteCapture has been a proud exhibitor and sponsor of RE+ for several years, and this year’s participation was no exception.

The Importance of Seamless Integrations in Solar Operations

One of the standout themes at the event was the critical importance of seamless integrations in solar operations. As the solar market and the tools and technology that accompany it continue to expand, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) companies are increasingly searching for ways to streamline their workflows and improve efficiency.

sitecapture integrations

SiteCapture’s integration capabilities were a key point of discussion, as our platform effortlessly connects with essential solar software tools such as Salesforce, Zapier, DocuSign, and now Aurora Solar, among others. These integrations make it easy for EPCs to manage fieldwork, transfer crucial data and photos, and ensure smoother collaboration with finance and design teams. This kind of connectivity is essential for businesses looking to see scalable growth while minimizing the inefficiencies that often slow down projects.

A Focus on Operations & Maintenance

Operations and maintenance (O&M) was also a hot topic at the event. While these areas are always essential, this year there was a stronger focus on preventive maintenance and servicing existing systems. This shift underscores the industry’s ongoing efforts to ensure that solar installations continue to perform optimally over their lifespan.

Be sure to check out the SiteCapture Omnidian Case study to see how we were able to completely rebuild Omnidian’s preventative maintenance forms with new robust features to meet the O&M industry’s unique requirements that led to over 400 hours saved per month on site visits.

“With SiteCapture, we were able to configure fully custom preventative maintenance forms that were more user-friendly for our field users and generated more detailed reports that in the end, provided more value to our clients.”

Solar Industry Trends and Challenges

As always, the state of the solar industry is a major topic of conversation at RE+. Despite some uncertainty in the solar industry due to recent policy shifts, the demand for renewable energy remains. Although growth has been slower this year, the conversations and innovations showcased at RE+ 24 made it clear that the drive and need for solar solutions is still sturdy.

SiteCapture’s New Initiatives: Aurora Integration and Finance Partner Program

The SiteCapture booth generated significant interest, particularly with the unveiling of two exciting new initiatives.

The first was our integration with Aurora Solar. This partnership connects two of the solar industry’s leading software tools to allow seamless data flow between SiteCapture and Aurora projects, speeding up design verification and approval processes while ensuring accuracy across all project photos and data. It was clear from attendee feedback that this integration will have a substantial impact on increasing efficiency for solar companies and how they manage their design and operational workflows.

SiteCapture to Aurora Solar Integration

The second initiative that garnered attention was our soon-to-launch Solar Finance Partner Program. This program will simplify the process of submitting photo documentation to leading solar finance partners, making financing solar projects faster, more standardized, and ultimately, more efficient. By streamlining internal review processes, preventing fraud with tamper-proof metadata, and shortening underwriting timelines, the program will provide significant benefits to both solar finance companies and EPCs alike.

What’s Next for SiteCapture

Looking ahead, the SiteCapture team is gearing up for more key industry events. We’ll be attending the Intersolar & Energy Storage North America Regional Event in Austin, Texas, from November 19-20.

Then, in February, we’ll head to San Diego as a sponsor and exhibitor at the Intersolar & Energy Storage North America annual Flagship Event, which has been a major highlight for us in past years. You won’t want to miss what new announcements we’ll have in store then.
